As we bring 2017 to a close, we would like to thank each and every one of our donors, advocators, volunteers, friends, neighbors and businesses that helped unite us in our effort to make a real and lasting difference in Trumbull County. Here are a few of our favorite things your involvement has made possible this past year:
A local family of three was given emergency shelter when United Way connected them with a partner agency after their home was destroyed in a fire.
Sarah, a second grade student, learned that reading is fun when a United Way volunteer from the 910th Airlift Wing came into her classroom and read Spoon, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, a book that celebrates our differences. Our Read for Fun program reaches thousands of children just like Sarah each year.
While battling cancer, Mary was able to receive food for her family and prescription assistance for her costly medication through United Way’s Food Pantry and the FamilyWize Prescription Savings program.
Students in need were able to receive basic necessities such as food and personal care items right in the convenience of their school through Raider Pantry.
Shelley, a domestic violence victim, has a safe place to spend the holidays with her daughter.
We ask you to continue to Live United in 2018. When you LIVE UNITED, you choose to make a lasting difference in the lives of others, strengthen neighborhoods and bolster the health and outlook of our community.
